    Frequently Asked Questions

    Packages-Related

With reference to the "Your Idea, Our Craft" package, can I just give you a rough sketch and have you fill in all the missing details or completely redesign it?

No—the “Your Idea, Our Craft” package is meant to recreate your logo exactly from your provided sketch or low-res file. It isn’t designed for redesigning or filling in vague ideas; your sketch needs to clearly represent the concept you want us to refine into a polished, ready-to-use logo.

What is a Brand Discovery Form?

A Brand Discovery Form is a questionnaire used by PIRR to gather key information about a client’s business before starting a branding project. It helps ensure the design aligns with the brand’s goals, audience, and personality.

Is it necessary for me to provide accurate responses to the Brand Discovery Form?

Yes, providing accurate and thoughtful responses to the questionnaire is essential as it forms the basis of the design brief. Each question is carefully crafted to gather specific information about your brand, preferences, and requirements. By providing detailed and honest answers, you ensure that the resulting logo design concepts accurately reflect your brand identity and meet your expectations. Please ensure that stakeholders, including your boss, review and approve your responses to the questionnaire, as the accuracy of the design brief is crucial for ensuring the success of the logo design process.

Why do we need rationales for logo design concepts?

A rationale explains the thinking behind a logo design – why it looks the way it does, and how it reflects the brand. It connects creative decisions (like shape, colour, typography) to the brand’s strategy, values, and audience.

What happens if we don't like the logo design concepts presented to us?

If none of the initial logo concepts meets your expectations, you can engage our Additional Logo Design Concept with Rationale service. Alternatively, you may select the existing concept with the highest potential and provide specific feedback on what aspects you like and dislike. This will help us tailor the design to suit your preferences and vision better.

Can I request revision for more than one logo design concept during the revision round?

You can only request revision for one logo design concept during each revision round. Alternatively, you may use one of the allotted revision rounds for each additional logo design concept you wish to amend.

What if we've utilised all allotted revision rounds but still desire further modifications to the logo?

If you’ve exhausted all the revision rounds but still wish to make further changes to the logo, you may opt to utilise our Additional Revision Round on Selected Concept service. This service allows for additional rounds of revisions beyond the initial allotment, ensuring that we can continue refining the logo until it fully meets your expectations.

    What is a logo lockup?

A logo lockup refers to a specific arrangement or configuration of a logo’s elements, such as the logo mark or icon and the accompanying text (if applicable). It represents a predefined way the logo is presented, ensuring consistency and cohesion across various applications and platforms.

What's the difference between Pantone, CMYK, and RGB colours?

Pantone (PMS – Pantone Matching System) is a standardised colour matching system used in printing. Each Pantone colour is a pre-mixed ink with a unique code (e.g. Pantone 300 C), ensuring consistent results across different printers and materials. It’s ideal for logos with solid colours, packaging, and brand elements that require exact colour accuracy.

CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black – the four ink colours used in full-colour printing. These combine to produce a wide range of colours. CMYK colour mode is used for printing materials like brochures, business cards, and posters. It’s great for designs with photos, gradients, or detailed images, but exact colour matching can vary depending on the printer or paper.

RGB stands for Red, Green, and Blue, the light-based colours used for digital screens. RGB colour mode is best for anything displayed online – such as websites, social media, and digital ads. It produces vibrant colours on screen, but colours can look different when printed, so it’s not suitable for print use.

What's the difference between AI, EPS, PNG, and JPG logo formats?

AI stands for Adobe Illustrator. It’s a vector format that keeps your logo fully editable and scalable without losing quality. This is your master design file and is usually only editable with Illustrator or compatible software.

EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) is also a vector format, widely used in the printing industry. It works across many design programs and keeps your logo scalable.

PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a raster image format used for digital purposes. It supports transparent backgrounds, making it ideal for websites and presentations. It’s not suited for high-quality printing.

JPG (or JPEG) is a compressed raster format. It doesn’t support transparency and may lose some image quality due to compression.

How many PNG and JPG logo sizes do you provide?

We provide one size per file format (PNG and JPG). The logo’s longest side is set to 297mm (3,508px) at 300dpi, depending on whether it is a horizontal or vertical layout.

What's in the Logo Quick Guide?

The Logo Quick Guide is a comprehensive 5-paged PDF document outlining essential guidelines for effectively utilising your logo. It includes details such as the:

    • design rationale,
    • approved logo lockups,
    • approved colour variations and specifications, and
    • maximum & minimum allowable logo sizes

This guide ensures consistent and proper usage of your logo, reinforcing a cohesive brand identity across various platforms and applications.
